Luckily encroachment had not taken place into the laurel boundary hedge and into the farm yard behind.
The photographs show how much of the lawn had been affected, the orange posts indicating the furthest points of expansion.
This once again this bamboo had started to spread after a number of years.

The plastic label shown was the original label when the bamboo was planted approximately 17 years ago with a cost of £48.

Phyllostachys Castillonis is often sold as not considered invasive in the UK, but this clearly shows that if conditions are correct they certainly will.
We removed canes up to 14m in height and up to 50mm in diameter.
Clearly this type of bamboo is not suitable for domestic gardens.
