Our client in this Teignbridge home is a very keen gardener, even to the extent of volunteering in National Trust property and has quite a knowledge of bamboo.

Whilst visiting to assess some other works we noticed the bamboo in the corner of their garden. Whenever we see bamboo our “Panda Senses” jump to alert.

As we always say, it is only a matter of time before clumping bamboo spreads. at first glance from a distance, all looked fine, until we got closer !

As soon as we examined the bamboo it was very obvious that this bamboo was spreading, encroaching into the neighbouring property, rhizomes running under the fence into the small border past some shrubs and into the lawn. It is likely that the bamboo spread ointo the neighbouring garden which was on the sunny side of the fence !

Our photographs show our bamboo removal works, Theo can be seen removing the bamboo rhizomes from the neighbouring garden, the rhizomes had spread approximately two metres into the lawn area.
