Bamboo is very often removed from homes when houses have new owners.
New owners realising what a problem bamboo is, and the issues that it can cause.

It is very often the case that the bamboo were planted years previously by the homeowners, then left to expand unmanaged, with resulting encroachment into the surrounding areas, this Exmouth bamboo removal was no different.

It is likely that the bamboo was planted outside these patio doors to create a feature against the large brick wall.
With limited space to expand, it could only expand one way, that was towards the steps and lawn, which clearly it did !

The bamboo had spread the entire length of the soil strip running up the steps, also spreading through many of the steps.
It had also spread under the slabs at the bottom of the steps into the lawn.

With good access for the work area we were able to utilise a larger excavator than is often the case increasing efficiency.

Left unchecked this bamboo would have quickly spread beyond the steps into the next shrub filled border, leading to more extensive works and expense.
